About this course
The Level I Induction Course for Entry-Level Officers is designed to provide new public servants with foundational knowledge, leadership skills, and ethical values essential for effective performance in the public sector. Delivered over two weeks, the course aims to strengthen participants' ability to support government policies and reforms, apply basic supervisory and management skills, align their work with national development priorities, and promote innovation, accountability, and quality service delivery.
Curriculum
This module covers the fundamentals of effective communication, focusing on understanding communication models, verbal and non-verbal communication techniques, barriers to communication, and active listening skills.
This module familiarizes new public officers with Kenya’s public service values, ethics, and workplace culture. It emphasizes professionalism, accountability, and respect for diversity, drawing on Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution.
This module offers an overview of essential public service systems and policies, including HR, performance and records management, information security, and financial management. It also addresses labour laws, diversity and inclusion, and anti-corruption.
This module equips learners with digital and professional skills for public service. It covers government ICT systems, cybersecurity, communication techniques, and career development. The course concludes with a review, group presentations, evaluation, and a certification ceremony.
Upon successfully finishing the course and project, you will receive a Certificate of Completion recognizing your risk management proficiency.
