Course Purpose
This course is designed to equip and guide learners through the process of conceptualizing, designing, and completing a research thesis that contributes to the advancement of knowledge in their field of study. The course provides a structured framework for developing advanced research, analytical, and academic writing skills. Through one-on-one mentorship and independent study, learners will identify a research problem, review relevant literature, design an appropriate methodology, collect and analyse data, and effectively communicate their findings.
Course Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, learners should be able to:
- Apply advanced knowledge of research methodologies, theoretical frameworks, and academic conventions to formulate a significant research problem and address it effectively in the thesis.
- Design a comprehensive research study, demonstrating proficiency in data collection, statistical or qualitative analysis, and interpretation aligned with the research objectives.
- Produce and defend a scholarly thesis that addresses a relevant research question in the student’s area of specialization, demonstrating originality, critical analysis, and adherence to academic standards.
- Demonstrate intellectual integrity and academic commitment by adhering to ethical research practices, managing time effectively, and incorporating feedback constructively to enhance the quality of the thesis.
