Overview

This course offers a thorough exploration of electromagnetic field theory, covering electrostatics, magnetostatics, and Maxwell’s equations. Students will learn about wave propagation, reflections, and refractions, as well as practical applications like transmission lines and the Pointing vector theorem. The curriculum integrates theoretical principles with practical skills in electronics and communication technologies.

By the end of the "Introduction to Programming" course, the learner should be able to:

  • Acquire basic understanding of the principles of electromagnetic theory and their application to modern science and technology
  • Carry out analysis relating to electric and magnetic fields using the classical laws of electricity and magnetism.
  • Solve LaPlace’s equation in cartesian, cylindrical and spherical coordinates.
  • Obtain an expression for the magnetic energy density used in calculating the magnetic energy stored in a magnetic field.
